Robert Farley Recognized by Spokane Arts Commission

SCT is pleased to announce that Robert E. Farley will be awarded the Individual Benefactor Award from the Spokane Arts Comission in recognition of his support of Spokane Children's Theatre!

The award is one of six given at the 18th Annual Arts Awards, presented during a public meeting of the Spokane City Council Monday, October 5th at 6 p.m. A reception will be held at Kress Gallery following the presentation to honor this year's nominees and recipients.

Bob has served backstage, onstage and in the front of house, recruiting volunteers, supporting and advising fledgling directors and encouraging kids to realize their dreams since the 1970's. His Tickles the Clown character introduced every single SCT performance for ten seasons, 1973-1983!

Bob has tried (in vain) to retire several times but always stepped back up to the plate when needed, serving as president for many SCT seasons. Children's Theatre named its annual scholarship program after Bob and his wife Carmen, an inspiring director for many SCT shows. In spring 2009, Bob retired for the last time but remains a guiding light for this organization. A tireless volunteer, a generous donor, a caring mentor and eternal friend, Robert E. Farley IS Spokane Children's Theatre.
